Regionality
We attach great importance to regional wood suppliers: Our trees come from within a maximum radius of 150 kilometers. In this way, we avoid unnecessary transport routes, reduce noise and lower carbon dioxide emissions.
Electromobility
Whether electronic forklift trucks or passenger cars: wherever possible, we rely on alternative drive technology. We were able to expand our fleet by 18 electric forklifts and 12 hybrid cars in 2020. This enables us to meet the growing demands for sustainable logistics.
Forest regeneration
Wood is our core business, and we process around 2.2 million solid cubic meters annually. In the process, we are FSC and PEFC certified. These certifications ensure that we meet high sustainable standards. But that's not all, because we know: Forests are people's allies against climate change. That's why we take care of them and plant more trees than we cut down. This is important to us, because in the forest, too, the future belongs to young people.
Energy efficiency
With the help of the certified energy management system in accordance with ISO 5001, we record the energy flows in our companies. Following an in-depth analysis, we identify and exploit opportunities for savings. In this way, we ensure a resource-conserving production process.
Rail transport
Whenever possible, we shift traffic from road to rail. Our company-owned freight station in Wiesau forms the basis for this. In this way, we reduce greenhouse gases and ensure a healthier environment.
Circular economy
Our production process in the sawmill does not produce any waste: we process wood residues further or use them to generate energy for our power plants. Every year, we generate around 13 gigawatt hours of electricity and over 100 gigawatt hours of heat in this way. This is roughly equivalent to the annual demand of a town with 15,000 inhabitants.

Trainings
With around 20 apprenticeships, we are the launch pad for anyone who wants to aim high. We offer young generations the prospect of a predictable and secure future. Our trainers see themselves as pioneers for young people who want to shape a happy society.
Employee Programs
The world is spinning faster and faster. Not only at work. Personnel development and health promotion can prevent turbulence. Through individually tailored training or in-service courses, we equip our employees to master future challenges in the best possible way. At the same time, health must not fall by the wayside: High-quality meals from the company's own catering and an in-house gym make a valuable contribution here.
Connectedness
We feel connected: with the region and its people. We also show this. By implementing numerous projects in the Upper Palatinate, we create jobs. For example, at the new pellet plant being built in Pressath. We support social organizations such as KARO and the BRK with donations in cash and kind. And we don't neglect sports either: In addition to more than 30 permanently sponsored sports clubs, we would like to highlight our commitment to the Blue Devils Weiden and SpVgg SV Weiden.
